New in Knoxville: Affordable, In-Person AI Training for Parents and Professionals

Knoxville-based EmberRidge AI is partnering with Pellissippi State Community College to launch two new in-person workshops for the Lifelong Learning program starting in February 2026. These two-hour sessions are designed for beginners and offer practical, hands-on AI training for specific needs: career advancement and parental education assistance.
The first workshop, “Land the Job with AI: Tools for Resumes, Interviews & Career Growth,” focuses on modernizing the job hunt. Participants will learn how to use tools like Gemini, NotebookLM, and ChatGPT to tailor resumes, sharpen cover letters, and even practice for interviews. In addition, they will use AI to explore new career paths and identify transferable skills.
The second workshop, “AI for Parents: Homework & Homeschool Help,” positions AI as a “personal assistant” for families. It covers strategies for creating customized lesson plans, managing homework loads, and boosting subject knowledge using free AI platforms. The curriculum is designed to streamline how parents manage homeschooling or oversee their children’s education.
“We are just getting started!” said Kerry Hoerth, Founder of EmberRidge AI. “In addition to Pellissippi State, we are working with local partners to bring affordable AI literacy workshops directly to your neighborhood. Stay tuned for upcoming workshops this spring at the Farragut Community Center, West Knox Senior Center, and the Knox County Public Library – Farragut Branch.”
Why this matters for The Knoxville AI Hub
These workshops not only help build a local AI talent pipeline, but work towards our goal of ensuring that Knoxville’s families are not left behind in the AI shift. With the job market increasingly using AI to filter applicants; learning how to use AI tools is becoming a necessary skill to stay competitive. For parents, whether homeschooling or just managing nightly homework, these tools can reduce stress and help provide personalized support for individual learning styles.
